“Welcome to Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado, a Tuition-Free Classical Charter School!

We are excited to have your family join our community and we look forward to providing your child a robust classical education that combines the pursuit of knowledge with the development of virtue.

This Parent’s Guide includes important information to prepare you and your child for a successful year at Ascent Classical Academy.

After Accepting an Offer

Once you have accepted an offer for your child, we will begin the process of registration and transferring your child’s records and enrollment to Ascent Classical Academy.  You will receive a call or email from our Student Affairs Coordinator, Mrs. Greely.  You may verify your child’s enrollment or waitlist status at anytime through our online application and enrollment system.

If your child has any special needs, we will follow up with you to ensure we have any additional information and existing plans to ensure we’re prepared to serve your child.

Your child will be given his or her teacher assignments close to the beginning of school.

School Calendar

As a charter school, Ascent Classical Academy manages its own calendar, while ensuring it meets state requirements for student contact days.  Our holidays roughly mirror those of Poudre School District Schools though there are minor differences to note.  The 2020/2021 calendar is available on our website under the Incoming Families tab.

The first day of school will be August 31, 2020 and will conclude the Friday before Memorial Day in May 2021.

Uniforms

Part of our mission is to ensure a disciplined and orderly environment in which kids can learn.  Ascent Classical Academy has a uniform policy to help achieve this.  Detailed information about our uniforms is found on our uniform page.  All items with a logo must be ordered through Lands’ End, our uniform provider.  Other items, such as pants and white shirts may be purchased from local vendors as well.

Transportation

Families will have the option of signing up for our bus that will transport their children to and from the school each day. There will be one pick-up location in the Windsor area (TBD) and will transport children directly to our school in Fort Collins. The drop-off location after school will be the same as the pick-up location.  Click here to express your interest in securing a seat on the bus.

Summer Events and Family Meet and Greets

We will be hosting an “In-Person Parent Information Session and Meet & Greet” on Wednesday, July 8 at 5:30 p.m.  Please check our Information Meetings and Tours page for additional information.

The school will continue to host events throughout the summer for parents and children to meet as we build our community. These will be announced via our newsletter and on our Facebook page.

Volunteer

We always appreciate parent help with organizing events. Please contact Mrs. Greely if you would like to volunteer to support the school.
