Dual Enrollment & Honors Courses
As Ascent continues to add high school grades each year, we will offer the following dual enrollment courses:

• DE Pre-Calculus/Trig
• DE Calculus I
• DE Calculus II
• DE Calculus III

Additionally, Ascent offers honors courses for all core subjects, language courses of level 3 and above, and a Senior Thesis class.  Ascent does not offer AP courses.


Schedule & Graduation Requirements

Students follow a seven-period schedule from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. and attend­ class five days a week. To be eligible for graduation, students are required to earn 27 credits* as follows:

English: 4 Credits
Mathematics: 4 Credits
Science: 4 Credits
History: 4.5 Credits
Government: 0.5 Credits
Economics: 0.5 Credits
Physical Education: 1 Credit
Latin: 1 Credit
Foreign Language: 3 Credits
Composition: 0.5 Credits
Rhetoric: 0.5 Credits
Moral Philosophy: 0.5 Credits
Fine Arts: 1 Credit
Electives: 3.5 Credits

*Graduation requirements may be waived at the discretion of the Headmaster.


Grading Framework

Ascent Classical Academy uses a traditional 4.0 grading scale (unweighted) with the following letter grades and grade points:

A  (4.0)
A- (3.7)
B+ (3.3)
B  (3.0)
B- (2.7)
C+ (2.3)
C  (2.0)
C- (1.7)
D+ (1.3)
D  (1.O)
D- (0.7)
F  (0.0)

Ascent transcripts also feature a weighted GPA. Honors and dual-enrollment course grades earn one additional grade point for passing grades (D- and above).

12th Grade

• Modern Literature
• Modern European History (1789 – present)
